Coach guiding an athlete through a split squat

Why Weight Room Sports Performance

Set a standard.Develop the athlete.

The standard is not a hard workout. It is knowing why the work is there, coaching it well, and changing it when the athlete, season, or evidence demands something different.

The Weight Room standard

A system built around the athlete.

Strength, speed, power, movement, conditioning, confidence, injury history, recovery, and the competitive calendar affect one another. Weight Room Sports Performance coaches the whole picture.

Train the whole athlete

Begin with sport, goals, experience, history, schedule, and current level—not a predetermined workout.

A sophomore soccer player, a college sprinter and an adult returning to training don’t get the same program. Programs start from the athlete’s sport, season and history, and change as those change.

Own the standard

Make purpose and expectation clear, then coach athletes to repeat quality work independently.

Measure what matters

Use testing and training records to verify progress and expose the next priority.

Testing is used to choose the next priority, not to sell a number. Results are re-checked over time so athletes and parents can see what changed.

Adjust without guessing

Change exercises, loads, progressions, and emphasis as the athlete and environment change.

Professional coaching

Experience becomes better judgment.

12 years and thousands of coached athletes have built the judgment behind WRSP. CSCS-led professional sports-performance work is the foundation. Former Division I experience and active high school coaching add firsthand context for the demands young athletes face.

What a session looks like

Every session is run by a coach. With no more than 8 athletes on the floor, the coach can correct technique, adjust loads and keep each athlete on their own plan.

Expectations

Our standard for athletes

  • Show up prepared.
  • Own the quality of every rep.
  • Communicate about soreness, injuries, school and competition load.
