Strength and conditioning is the practical application of sports science to enhance athletic performance, healthy habits and movement quality.

Strength Coaches are well versed in all aspects of the body and human performance. Coaches must understand functional anatomy, physiology, physics, concepts of mechanics, and psychology.

A coach is much more than a source of information.  A coach is a leader, a teacher, a mentor, an ear to listen, a shoulder to cry on

​

Traditionally, credentialing within strength and conditioning (S&C ) requires a university level degree.  This means Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists (CSCS) must possess a formal college education in order to qualify for accredited credential exams.  Additionally, these exams require a passing score of 80% to earn the CSCS credential.
